Hancheng power station (大唐韩城发电厂) is an operating power station of at least 2400-megawatts (MW) in Hancheng, Weinan, Shaanxi, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 大唐韩城第二发电厂 (Unit 2-1, Unit 2-2, Unit 2-3, Unit 2-4).

Background

Hancheng-1 power station was a four-unit coal-fired power station totaling 380 MW in Baqiao, Xi'an. It was commissioned in 1976-7 and retired in 2011.

Hancheng-2 power station is a 4 x 600 MW coal plant. Units 1-2 were brought online in 2005, and units 3-4 in 2008. The plant is owned by China Datang and Shaanxi Provincial Investment Group.
