Background
The Hanil Cement Danyang Plant was established in 1964 and is a cornerstone of Hanil Cement Co., Ltd.'s operations. , the plant has significantly contributed to South Korea's construction industry.[3]
The Danyang Plant boasts an annual cement production capacity of approximately 8.1 million tonnes per annum, making it one of the largest cement manufacturing facilities in the country.[4] The plant houses six calcination furnaces.[5]
Demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, the Danyang Plant was the first in the South Korean cement industry to be designated as a green company by the Ministry of Environment. The plant has adopted eco-friendly production methods, replacing about 30% of its raw materials with alternative resources to reduce carbon emissions.[6][7]
