Background on Project

The two-unit, 75 MW coal plant was commissioned in 2008. It is owned by Hefei Cogen Group.[1]

Proposed expansion

Hefei Cogen Group has proposed a 2 x 350 MW CHP coal plant at the site. In 2015 the Anhui Provincial Environmental Protection Agency considered approval of the project's EIA.[2]

The plant was listed in the Anhui Province Power Development 13th 5-Year Plan as a back-up project, released in May 2017.[3]

As of December 2019 the power station has yet to have its EIA approved and has not received a permit for construction, and appears to be abandoned.
