Background on Project

The two-unit, 75 MW coal plant was commissioned in 2008. It is owned by Hefei Cogen Group.

Proposed expansion

Hefei Cogen Group has proposed a 2 x 350 MW CHP coal plant at the site. In 2015 the Anhui Provincial Environmental Protection Agency considered approval of the project's EIA.

The plant was listed in the Anhui Province Power Development 13th 5-Year Plan as a back-up project, released in May 2017.

As of December 2019 the power station has yet to have its EIA approved and has not received a permit for construction, and appears to be abandoned.
