Background
HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Limited is one of the largest manufacturers of top-quality cement in Bangladesh, and represents two reputed brands: RubyCement and ScanCement.[3]
In 1999, the Group built a greenfield plant in Kanchpur, near Dhaka, under the name ScanCement International Limited. Heidelberg Materials further increased the capacity of its Kanchpur plant by setting up another grinding unit able to process 0.45 million tonnes per year, which was commissioned in 2008. In 2013, Heidelberg Materials installed another cement silo with a capacity of 8,000 tonnes at its Kanchpur plant as part of its silo project, which will help to increase the productivity. In October 2019 a new grinding mill in the Kanchpur plant has been commissioned which increased the capacity by 0.4 million tonnes per year. [3]
