Henan Nengxin cogen new power station (河南平煤神马首山热能2✕350MW等容量替代民生热电项目, 河南能信热电公司热电联产异地升级改造工程) is an operating power station of at least 700-megawatts (MW) in Henan, China. It is also known as 河南能信热电等容量替代民生热电工程.

Upgrade and Reconstruction project
Additional supercritical power station capacity was proposed starting in 2020.[5] The new units are expected to replace the existing 2 x 210 MW units. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documents noted the current units were heavily polluting and experiencing loss due to low heat demand in the area. So the expanded capacity proposed is planned for another location.[6]
According to a 2022 list of key construction projects, construction on the power plant had begun in January 2022.[7] In September 2022, a foundation laying ceremony was held. The capacity was planned to be completed and put into operation in 2025.[8][9][10]
In March 2023, it was reported that the project had secured funding for capital investment, financing and EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction).[11]
The Henan Nengxin cogen new power station was included in a list of Henan's key construction projects for 2023, noting that construction of the power project was ongoing in March 2023.[12]
In June 2023, the construction period for the plant was listed on a construction news report as 2023-2025.[13] Other reports in mid-2023 stated that concrete was poured into the foundation on 31 May 2023.[14] [15]
The 2×350MW equal-capacity replacement project continued construction with the cooling tower completion in April 2024[16] and the Unit 1 generator rotor installation in November 2024[17]. Unit 1 achieved 168-hour trial run in June 2025[18].
Unit 2 progressed with boiler installation in April 2024[19] and boiler water pressure test in October 2024[20]. Unit 2 achieved full-load test completion in September 2025[21].
