Hohhot Jinshan cogen power station (蒙能呼和浩特金山热电厂) is an operating power station of at least 1920-megawatts (MW) in Taigemu Town Dagaoyang Villege, Tumed Left (Tumote Zuo), Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 内蒙古能源集团金山热电厂2×100万千瓦煤电联营扩建项目 (Phase III Unit 5&6), 内蒙古能源集团金山发电厂2×66万千瓦煤电扩建项目 (Unit 7&8).

Background
Phase III Units 5 and 6 of Hohhot Jinshan cogen power station were permited to build in January 2023[1]. It was reported that the environmental assessment was approved in July 2023[2], and construction started in March 2023[3]. The project was slated for operation in 2025[3].
The further expansion project of Phase IV Units 7 and 8 was first announced on the Tumed Left Banner government’s official website in March 2024[4]. On 30 June 2024, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau granted the project permission to build[5]. The units were reported under construction from March 2024[6][7].
Bidding calls for Phase V Unit 9 site selection[8], cultural relics exploration consulting[9], and social stability risk assessment[10] studies appeared from March 2025.
