Background

The Hongshiqiao power station was proposed as early as 2014, initially as 2 x 600 MW. [1] In 2015, the project was described as 2 x 660 MW.[2]

In February 2022, the feasibility study for the project was completed.[3] The project's capacity was not revealed, and may be more than 1,320 MW (potentially 2 x 1000 MW or more given recent trends).

No significant progress after the feasibility study in February 2022; the project was marked as shelved in April 2024.
