Background
As of December 2018, Hongyang Lianyungang power station was a 3 x 40 MW coal plant in Xuwei New Area - Lianyungang City, owned by Sinopec. The units were commissioned from 2016 to 2018.[3]
An additional nine units, Units 4-12 totaling 415 MW, were proposed and planned for commissioning in 2021.[4][5]
Construction began on Units 4-9 in September 2020.[6]
Unit 4 and 7 went into operation in 2022.[7] In February 2023, Unit 6 began operating.[8][9] In March 2023, Unit 8 began operating.[10] In May 2023, Unit 9 began operating.[11]
