Background on Project
Hotan power station is a proposed 2 x 350 MW coal-fired power station in Gujiang Bage Town. It was listed as one of the "Key Projects" for Xinjiang in 2021.[3]
The project was approved in June 2021, and construction began in November 2021.[4]
The project progressed through 2024 with the Unit 1 boiler water pressure test in April[5] and grid connection in September 2024[6]. Unit 1 successfully completed the 168-hour trial run in October 2024[7].
Unit 2 construction progressed, and the unit was expected to be commissioned by late 2024 or early 2025[8].
