Background

In April 2023, a project investment bidding process was announced for a 2 x 660 MW coal-fired power project in Qinghai Golmund, China.[4]

In June 2023, it was announced that the Huadian Group (China Huadian Group Co., Ltd.) had been selected as the winning investment bidder for the proposed power project in Golmud, Qinghai Province, China.[5][6][7]

In September 2023, Phase I was officially approved for the Kunlun Economic Development Zone. In addition, a 2 x 660 MW Phase II was announced.[8]

In December 2023, a feasibility study closing review meeting was held for Phase I.[9]
