Background

Huadian Qingdao Gas Thermal power station (华电青岛燃机热电厂) received approval on December 22, 2016, [6]and officially commenced construction in April 2022. In November 2023, Unit 1 completed debugging and began operations, with the entire project scheduled to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2023. The main construction of Unit 2 has been completed, and it is expected to start operation in April 2024.[7]
