Background on Project

In June 2015, China Huadian proposed a 2 x 1,000 MW coal plant for Tongzhou.[2]

There were no further developments until 2020, when the project was revived by China Huaneng.[3]

In June 2022, the project was reportedly moving forward and considered pre-permitted.[4]

In November 2022, it was reported that the project was permitted.[5]
