Background
The first phase (Unit 1-1 and Unit 1-2) of Huaneng Qingyuan power station (华能清远高新区燃气电厂) obtained approval from the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission in December 2020 and received capacity change approval in June 2021. Construction officially commenced on April 26, 2022, with an expected operational date by the end of 2023.[8]
The second phase（Unit 2-1 and Unit 2-2) of Huaneng Qingyuan power station (华能清远高新区燃气电厂) will construct 2×460MW gas-steam combined cycle units.[9]
