Background

The power station consists of four 1,050 MW units that were built from 2006-2007. Unit 1 was the first 1,000 MW unit commissioned in China. The plant is owned by China Huaneng.[1][2]

In 2021, the province listed a power station expansion as an "energy security" project in the 14th Five-Year Plan period.[3][4]

A January 2022 document described the power station layout.[5]

In April 2023, the expansion project was described as 1 x 1,000 MW.[6] The second expansion unit, Phase III Unit 6, was therefore presumed to be shelved.

In May 2023, Phase III was included on a Zhejiang key projects list.[7]
