Background

GE will supply two 9HA.01 gas-steam combined cycle units to the plant. This will be the first plant to use gas-hydrogen mixed fuel in China. The proportion of hydrogen will be 10% with the potential to rise in the future.[16]

The Phase 1 (Unit 1-1 and Unit 1-2) of Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone Comprehensive Energy Station received approval from the Huizhou City Energy Bureau on June 28, 2021, and construction officially commenced on March 29, 2022. It is expected that the Phase 1 of the project will be connected to the grid and put into operation by the end of 2023.[17]
