Background

This power plant is co-located with the Iasi-2 coal-fired power station. Construction of the power plant started in 1962 and 2 gas-fired units x 25 MW were put into operation in 1966. Between 1972-73, 2 more units x 50 MW each and 6 hot water boilers of 100 GCal/h put into operation. Currently, only one of the two 25 MW turbines are still active.[3]
