Background on Mine

The Indaram Opencast Coal Mine Project of 1.5 MTPA capacity over an area of 846.76 Ha is operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, in village Indaram, Mandal Jaipur, District Mancherial, State Telangana, India. The project its environment clearance on 31 July 2008[5] but is yet to begin production. Newspaper reports say the initial work started on January 23, 2020.[6] But in response to a right of information request in 2021, the mine is not listed by the Government of India as an active new mine project. It is presumed shelved.[7]
