Background on Mine

The Indaram Opencast Coal Mine Project of 1.5 MTPA capacity over an area of 846.76 Ha is operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, in village Indaram, Mandal Jaipur, District Mancherial, State Telangana, India. The project its environment clearance on 31 July 2008 but is yet to begin production. Newspaper reports say the initial work started on January 23, 2020. But in response to a right of information request in 2021, the mine is not listed by the Government of India as an active new mine project. It is presumed shelved.
