Background

Jixi power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 850 MW in Heilongjiang Province. The first eight units were all retired by 2011. Units 9 & 10, totaling 250 MW, were completed in 2003. Units 11 & 12, totaling 600 MW, were completed in 2011. The plant is owned by China Datang.[1][2]

Proposed expansion

An additional 85MW unit was permitted for construction in February 2018.[3]

As of July 2020, construction did not appear to have begun and the plant was not covered in the news, so plans were presumed shelved. With no known progress updates in at least four years, the project was presumed cancelled as of July 2022.
