Background

In 2023, Shell announced the discovery of the Jonker-1X deep water exploration well.[7] The Jonker field has an estimated 300 million BOE.[8] In March 2024, QatarEnergy stated that data is being evaluated with further appraisal planned to determine the size of recoverable potential of the discovery.[9]
