Background

The Juhua Quzhou Complex power station was originally built in 1958 by the Juhua Group. The steam and electricity from the plant powers the chemical manufacturing/processing park it is located in. The total investment of the plant exceeds 300 million RMB (46.4 million USD). The plant supplies 351 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year as well.

In 2014, the Juhua Group spent over 300 million RMB investing in environmental protection technologies, including desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal units.[1]

In 2020, it was announced that a new unit, Unit 11, was under construction, along with several other projects funded by the Juhua Group. While there was no specific number for the investment into Unit 11, the total capital investment for these projects combined was three billion RMB.[2] As of 2023, Unit 11 was described as operating.[3]
