KG Dongbu Steel Dangjin steel plant, also known as Kage Dongbu Steel Dangjin; Keiji Dongbu Steel Dangjin; Asan Bay Works, is an electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating pre-retirement in Dangjin, South Chungcheong, South Korea.

Background
The construction of the Dangjin factory was completed in 1999. The steel meltshop comprising two 160 ton electric arc furnaces (EAF) was inaugurated in July 2009.[1] Dongbu Steel went through a corporate workout program in 2015 and had been up for sale for five years until KG group acquired it in April 2019.[2] In 2016, Pulse News of the Maekyung Media Group reported that equipment from the Dongbu Steel Dangjin steel plant would be sold off to Iran.[3] The attempt failed then, but its EAF units were sold to Liberty group for installation at its Romania-based Galati steelworks in November 2022.[4] As of February 2023, Liberty Steel studying the feasibility of relocating the equipment from South Korea to their Galati plant.[5]
