Kais power station (محطة كهرباء قيس، محطة كهرباء الرميلة) is an operating power station of at least 633-megawatts (MW) in Remila, Khenchela, Algeria with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as Centrale de Kais, Khenchela Combined Cycle Power Plant، Remila Power Plant.

Background

Construction of the Kais Power station began in March of 2017 as a joint-venture of GS Engineering & Construction and Daelim Industrial.[11][12][13] In 2018 the Minister of Energy visited the construction site.[14] Zawya.com states that the project is delayed, as of April 8, 2019.[12] The African Power Platform classifies the project as "under construction" as of November 2019.[15]

SPE's development plan states the plant is expected to be commissioned 2019-2020.[16] However as of July 2021 the power station is not included in SPE's list of operating plants.[17]
