Background

Kamyshansky coal mine (разрез Камышанский) is a surface mine in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia.

The Kamyshansky coal mine is owned and operated by SUEK-Kuzbass JSC, a subsidiary of Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK).

Reported capacity is 3 million tonnes per annum.[4][5] SUEK mothballed the mine in July 2020, but following the increase in demand, including from the CHP plants in Siberia, it decided to reopen the mine in June 2021.[6]

Production in the first half of 2022 was almost 0.6 million tonnes.[7] 2022 production figure was not available.
