Background
This 100-kilometer pipeline is part of Gazprom's plans to develop the Yamal Peninsula and develop gas resources there. This inter-field pipeline will feed into other pipelines originating at Bovanenkovskoye Oil and Gas Field and supply the Unified Gas Supply System.[1] The Kharasaveyskoye gas field was expected to begin delivering gas by 2023, so the presumed start year of this pipeline aligns with those plans.[1]
In April 2020, this pipeline was mentioned in a Russian industry journal as proposed.[9] In December 2021, it was reported that drilling of 39 wells was completed at Kharasaveyskoye field.[10] In December 2021, Gazprom's CEO Alexey Miller announced that 40% of the pipeline has already been constructed.[6]
As of July 2023, the pipeline appears to have been complete, yet no news on commissioning were found.[7]
The project was also included in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines" released by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in March 2024.[11] In March 2024, the project passed the government review for construction.[12] In May 2025, Gazstroyprom, the construction arm of Gazprom, published a tender related to the pipeline construction.[2]
