Background
Modernization of unit 4, including replacement of the high-pressure cylinder, the medium-pressure cylinder of the turbine with reheat steam, the replacement of pipelines for live steam, feed water and reheat, increased the capacity from 300 MW to 330 MW in 2022.[9] Analogous modernization of units 2 & 7 in 2023, units 3 & 5 in 2024, unit 6 in 2025, and unit 1 in 2026 is planned.[9] Modernization will increase the total capacity of the plant by 210 MW compared to 2021 levels.
In 2023, units 4 and 8 were upgraded to increase their capacity to 330 MW. As of November 2023, the upgrade of Unit 7, including its capacity increase to 330 MW, is in progress and is expected to be completed by March 2024.[10] Units 1, 2,3, 5 and 6 will be upgraded in 2024-2027 to increase the capacity of each unit by 30 MW.[11]
