Kutubdia (Reliance) FSRU was a proposed floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to be operated by Reliance Power off the coast of Chittagong, Bangladesh. As of October 2018, the project has been cancelled.

Background

In December 2016, the Bangladesh government said it was set to announce the selection of India-based Reliance Power Ltd. to build a 500,000 Mcfd floating storage and regasification unit and a 750-megawatt combined-cycle power plant.

According to an October 2018 article from S&P Global, Reliance Power had signed a memorandum of understanding with state-owned Petrobangla to build the FSRU-based LNG import terminal more than three years prior, but inadequate funding support coupled with initial hiccups to hook up with the country's first FSRU (Moheshkhali FLNG Terminal) prompted the government to cancel its plan for another facility.
