Background
According to reporting from May 2025, Huoyuntong Investments (Private) Limited had applied to the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) to build and operate a 300 MW coal-fired power station at the Indarama gold mine in Kwekwe, Midlands Province. The proposed power station was expected to supply power to the national grid.[2][3]
