Background
Laibin Sanjiangkou Industrial Park cogen power station was first granted permission (桂发改电力〔2019〕1016号) to build on 28 October 2019 but construction was delayed and the extension permission was granted by the Development and Reform Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (桂发改电力〔2021〕948号). The project contains 1 x 130t/h high temperature and pressure CFB boiler＋1 x 20 MW back-pressure steam turbine and 4 x 260t/h high temperature and pressure CFB boilers＋3 x 40 MW back-pressure steam turbines. Phase 1 will build 1x130 t/h + 1x260 t/h CFB boilers + 1 x 20 MW steam turbine. Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region passed the Environmental Impact Assessment for the project.[3]
According to the 2023 Guangxi Energy Infrastructure Construction Work Plan, the construction started in October 2021 and is expected to complete in November 2023.[4] As in April 2023, 75% of plant structural work was completed.[5] It was reported that the boiler was lighted up on 30 June 2023.[6]
