Coal Mine Background

Laohutai Coal Mine belongs to Fushun Mining Group Co., Ltd. and was mined in 1907. The current designed production capacity is 3 million tons/year.[2] The approved production capacity in 2019 is 2.4 million tons per year.[3]

At 20:44 on March 10, 2007, a huge flooding accident occurred at the Laohutai Coal Mine, resulting in 22 deaths and 7 missings.[4] On June 21, 2011, a flooding accident occurred in the Laohutai Coal Mine, resulting in 3 deaths.[5]
