Background

In 2004 the Spanish company Repsol was awarded a land-use permit for the proposed LNG project at the port of Lázaro Cárdenas. Repsol outbid Belgian company, Tractebel.[2] There have been no subsequent news updates about the project since 2005 and it appears to be cancelled.
