Background

Leiyang power station was a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,020 MW. The plant was completed between 1988 and 2004, and was owned by China Datang.[1]

By 2023, it appeared the small units had been decommissioned.[2] In March 2023, it was reported that the two 210 MW units of the Datang Huayin Power Company in Leiyang City had the largest capacity among a list of 2022-23 retired units.<ref>"头条聚焦!“上大压小”的煤电项目建设热潮,将持续多久?," 2023-03-20
