Background

The project was initially proposed in 2014, with an expected commissioning date between 2015-2020.[3] This, along with 9 other gas infrastructure projects developed by Gaz-System, qualified to receive a total of 750 million Euros from the European Commission as financing for the project. Of this total sum, 9.95 million was earmarked for this project specifically.[2][4]

However, the project still remains in its early stages of development, with Gaz-system reporting that the pipeline was still in the "engineering design" phase. The pipeline will have a 38km section from Lewin Brzeski-Nysa with a diameter of 500mm, and a significant branch from Kopice to Grodkow of 14km at a diameter of 100-150mm.[1]
