Background on Project

Lianyuan Cogen power station began as a proposed 4 x 50 MW coal plant in Bayi Town, Linhe, sponsored by Inner Mongolia Bayannur Langhua Property Development Co.[2]

Construction began on units 1-2 in June 2018.[3]

In 2019, an additional 100 MW unit was proposed, Unit 5.[4]

As of 2020 Units 1-2 are operating.[5]

Construction began on unit 3 in 2020.[6]

Based on Planet imagery, unit 3 appeared to be operating by the beginning of 2021. Planet imagery from June 2022 appeared to show construction underway at Unit 4, with additional space to the right of the station available for Unit 5.

Unit 5 was presumed shelved as of January 2023 given the lack of known updates.
