Linxi Coal Mine (唐山开滦林西矿业有限公司) is an underground coal mine located at Linxi Road, Guye District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, China.[1]

Coal Mine Background

Linxi Coal Mine has a long history. It was built in 1879, handed over to production in 1889, and officially put into production in 1902. From 1957 to 1959, the mine was rebuilt and expanded, and the designed production capacity reached 2.3 million tons per year. In 2005, the approved production capacity was 1.2 million tons per year, and the service life was 20 years. [2] The approved production scale in 2019 is 1.5 million tons per year.[3]

On November 19, 2001, a gas explosion occurred in Linxi Coal Mine, killing two people.[4] On the morning of April 25, 2002, a roof-fall accident occurred in Linxi Coal Mine and 11 people were killed.[5]
