Background

On September 19, 2022, the 2 x 660 MW project (大湾低热值(CFB)煤电项目) was permitted. The "Guizhou Liupanshui Dawan 2×660MW low calorific value (CFB) coal-fired power project" was expected at the multi-energy complementary energy base in Liupanshui City in Dawan Town, Zhongshan District. The total investment was projected at 4.99871 billion yuan.[1]

Land acquisition announcement[2] and graveyard replacement announcement[3] related to the project appeared online in 2022.

In December 2022, the construction ceremony for the project was held.[4] Information on the project's EPC was posted for public bidding in May 2023 and operation of both units was expected to begin by the end of 2025.[5][6] In June 2023, the under-construction power project was listed on the Guizhou Province Coal Power Projects Three-Year Action Plan (2023-2025).[6]
