Background

The LNG terminal was built as a joint project with Skangass’ major customer Preem. LNG from the terminal will also be delivered to other land based industries by truck as well as to the marine clients. About 85 million euros (close to 700 million NOK) was invested in the terminal.[4]

In November 2012, The Linde Group was commissioned by Skangass to build the terminal in a contract worth €44 million.[5] This is presumed to be the approximate proposal date, final investment decision date, and construction date.

The terminal became operational in October 2014.[6][2]
