Background
Main Line
The 42" gas pipeline project (Mahmoudiya-Bismayah) has reached a major milestone, as substantial progress has been made in completing the pipeline, including its critical route through the Tigris River and the main outlet. The project, led by national oil companies, aims to enhance gas transportation and secure fuel supply for the Bismayah power plant, a key facility serving the capital, Baghdad.[2]
The 43-kilometer pipeline, has a capacity of 800 million standard cubic feet per day[3]
