Background
The Manaus power station participated in Brazil's September 2022 national energy auction[3], but did not place a winning bid. By September 2024, two years had passed with no new developments, so the project was moved to shelved-inferred status. Through March and September 2025, no updates were reported. In June 2026, having not been contracted in Brazil's March 2026 LRCAP energy auction, the project's status was moved to cancelled-inferred.[5]
