Background
Map Ta Phut LNG Terminal 1 is an LNG import terminal in Rayong, Thailand, owned by PTT LNG. It was commissioned in 2011 with capacity of 5 mtpa at a cost of US$930 million.[4] Most of the imported gas comes from Qatar and Malaysia.[5]
In 2017, the terminal's capacity was expanded to 10 mtpa.[6][7]
PTT successfully tested the reloading facilities at Map Ta Phut LNG terminal in 2020. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) granted PTT a commercial trial period for LNG Storage/Reloading activities at the terminal. The first cargo was reloaded at Map Ta Phut in January 2021.[8]

Expansion 1 Background
An additional 1.5 mtpa expansion is planned for 2019.[9] In July 2019 it was reported that the expansion had been commissioned.[10]
