Background
In 2013 Meaford Energy announce their plans to build a 299 MW combined-cycle power station.[5] In 2016 the project was granted approval.[6]
The application has not been withdrawn but there has been very little news since then. In 2021 the project applied for 299 MW new generation in the T-4 Capacity Market 2024-2025 auction, but they were not listed in the final results.[7][8][9] This would qualify them for government subsidies to guarantee electricity supply.[10] It is unclear if financing depended on these subsidies.
Meaford Energy Ltd website appears no longer to be active, as of November 18, 2021.[11] It is presumed to be shelved.
