Background
Meghavaram Kakarapalli power station is a 450 megawatt (MW) coal plant proposed by Meghavaram Power in Andhra Pradesh.[1] In December 2011, The Hindu reported that the plant had been placed on hold "because of agitations at Sompeta and Kakarapalli."[2]
