Mengtai Beijiao power station (蒙泰东胜北骄热电厂) is an operating power station of at least 1980-megawatts (MW) in Dongsheng, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. It is also known as Mengtai Dongsheng power station; 蒙泰东胜热电一期 (Unit 1, Unit 2), 蒙泰东胜北骄热电一厂 (Unit 1, Unit 2), 蒙泰东胜北骄热电二厂 (Unit 3, Unit 4), 蒙泰东胜热电二期 (Unit 3, Unit 4), 蒙泰北源热电联产项目 (Unit 3, Unit 4).

Project-level coal details

Background on Project
Mengtai Coal Power Group has been permitted to build a 2 x 330 MW coal plant in Dongsheng District. Coal supply would be domestic.[2][3]
The units were completed in 2015.[4]
Expansion
Two additional 330 MW subcritical coal units began preliminary construction near the power station in 2018,[5] although they do not have a permit for construction.[6]
In May 2020, the project was permitted as 2 x 660 MW coal-fired units.[7] Construction began in August 2020.[8]
Unit 3 went into operation in December 2022.[9]
