Background

This power station initially provided combined heat and power to Equinor's Mongstad Oil Refinery in Vestland, Norway. It consists of a combined cycle system of two gas turbines and a steam turbine, which provide 296 MW of power to the facility.[7]

In 2019, the power station was announced as mothballed due to high costs of operation. However, ENTSO-E's transparency platform reports that power was generated at this station in August, 2022.[8]
