The Murayrat-Al Ghubrah Gas Pipeline is an operating gas pipeline in Oman.[1]

Location

The pipeline runs from Murayrat to the Al Ghubrah Power and Desalination Plant in Muscat, Oman.[2]

Project Details

  • Operator: OQGN[3]
  • Length: 30 km[2]
  • Diameter: 20 in[2]
  • Status: Operating[1]
  • Start year: 2010[2]

Background

In 2009, an article reported that a new 30 km, 20 inch loop line from Murayrat to Al Ghubrah was nearing completion. The pipeline was being built to support the existing line that had experienced a rupture in 2007. Details of the original pipeline are unclear. They were constructed to support the Al Ghubrah Power and Desalination Plant.[2]

The loop line is believed to have been complete by 2010.[2]

The pipelines appear on OQGN schematic maps in 2023 and 2025, indicating its continued operation.[1]
