NLMK Indiana steel plant is a 770 thousand tonnes per annum (TTPA) electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Portage, Indiana, United States.
Location
The map below shows the location of the steel plant in Portage, Indiana, United States.
- Location: 6500 S Boundary Rd, Portage, IN 46368, United States[1]
- Coordinates (WGS 84): 41.625912, -87.159989 (exact)
Background
The NLMK Indiana steel plant was previously owned by Beta Steel, which was acquired by the NLMK Group in 2008 for $400 million.[2]
In 2015, the steel plant implemented General Energy's water-saving technology, which saved 2,050 tons of waste water and reused 500,000 gallons of water within one year.[3]
