Nabinagar Power Generating Company

The Nabinagar Power Generating Company Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC which is building the Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, a 1960 megawatt coal-fired power station in the state of Bihar, India. Unit I of the Power Project Phase I has commences operation on 06.09.2019 and Unit 2 has been synchronized on 12.02.2020.[1]

Initially, the company was a joint venture with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd (BSPGCL). Upon transfer of shares held by BSPGCL to NTPC, the Company became wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC w.e.f. 29th June 2018.[2]
