Background

In 2011 Okinawa Electric power proposed building the Nakagusuku LNG Terminal in Kyushu, Japan.

The Nakagusuku LNG Terminal would have two 140,000 kl tanks and supplies the Yoshinoura LNG Thermal Power Plant. The terminal would handle 24.6 million m3 per day of LNG.

The import terminal began operations in 2013.
