Background

The Nanya Cogen power station is a 112 MW captive power plant that provides electricity and heating to the Formosa Plastics Group's facilities in Jiangsu.[1] Both operating units have been equipped with desulfurization equipment since commencing operations in 2004 and 2005, respectively.[2] In 2007, it was reported that the Nanya group (a subsidiary of the Formosa Plastics Group) had invested around 230 million USD in their operations, which one can assume also included building the Nanya Cogen power station.[3] Unfortunately, little public information about the plant besides the above is available.
