Background

In June 2019, Angola signed an agreement with New Fortress Energy for an LNG regasification terminal. Under the agreement, New Fortress would fund, build, and operate an LNG import and regasification terminal, which would supply gas to power industrial facilities across Angola. New Fortress will also work with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum to explore the development of additional indigenous natural gas resources, as well as a domestic liquefaction facility.[1]

There have been no updates in over four years, and the project is presumed cancelled as of 2023.
