Ningxia Liupanshan power station (宁夏六盘山电厂) is an operating power station of at least 660-megawatts (MW) in Qinghe Town Shili Village, Yuanzhou District, Guyuan, Ningxia, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as ChinaEnergy Liupanshan power station (Unit 3, Unit 4), 中铝宁夏能源六盘山热电厂 (Unit 1, Unit 2), 国能宁夏电力六盘山电厂 (Unit 3, Unit 4).

Background on CHALCO Plant

The two existing coal-fired units of Ningxia Liupanshan power station, totaling 660 MW, were permitted in 2009[1] and brought online in 2010. The plant is owned by Ningxia Electric Power Group.[2]

Background on ChinaEnergy expansion

ChinaEnergy Liupanshan power station (国能宁夏电力六盘山电厂) is a 2,000-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant proposed in Ningxia Province, China. The project's feasibility study successfully passed review as of May 2022.[3]

In March 2023, Units 3 and 4 were approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.[4]
